Brock Lesnar Announces WWE Retirement

While there will be understandable scepticism, Brock Lesnar has announced his retirement from WWE and professional wrestling as a whole following SummerSlam.

Lesnar stated on the Pat McAfee Show:

"I'm here today to do this interview to let the world and everybody know that I am retired. And I want to say a big thank you to everybody. Saturday was a very emotional day for me. Kind of weird because when Oba Femi slammed me at WrestleMania, I was like, 'I can’t do this again. I think I'm done.' But I still had some fuel in the tank, but Saturday, for Brock Lesnar, that’s it. That’s it for me inside the squared circle and for everything else too."

Following his apparent retirement, Lesnar plans to spend his time with his children and hunting.

"I've got some hunting lined up and I've got two boys in hockey. I'm going to support that, their dreams, as long as that's feasible. My daughter, she's got her eyes on the 2028 Olympics. Just going to spend more time with the kids and in the woods and just reap what I've sown. Just enjoy life," Lesnar added.

Brock Lesnar initially looked to have retired at WrestleMania 42 when he lost to Oba Femi, but that was quickly revealed to have been a pro wrestling angle, and Lesnar continued to wrestle until SummerSlam, when he lost the feud to Oba Femi inside Hell in a Cell.

Lesnar did not officially announce his retirement at SummerSlam but he did declare after the match that he was the past, while Oba Femi was the future. Lesnar was then moved to the alumni section of the WWE roster page following SummerSlam.
