WWE star Ashante "Thee" Adonis has confirmed that he is no longer with the company after his contract expired.

Real name Tehuti Miles, Adonis wrote on social media:

"After 6 unforgettable years under the WWE lights, the time has come for me to close that chapter. I'm filled with nothing but gratitude for every opportunity, the experiences, lessons, and incredible talent I’ve had the chance to work with. I'm truly excited to show the world what I can really do. Sometimes you gotta get off multiplayer and progress your story mode. I believe I'm the face of the future and the reason your girl stopped texting you back. This is a brand new beginning. I am becoming the best version of myself. You have only seen a glimpse of my true potential, and I'm just scratching the surface. I know that to some this can be a dark time, but stars can't shine without darkness. - Thee Adonis Out. Dave Meltzer has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that Adonis was initially on the list of wrestlers to be released by WWE in early May, but the company decided to simply allow his contract to expire as his 90-day non-compete clause would have ended around the same time his contract was set to end.

"The deal with Ashante, you remember when they were doing all those cuts three months ago? I thought he was getting a call any day, and I guess what happened was he was going to get cut and then they kind of realised if they cut him they would pay him for 90 days, which would have ended this week. Then they found out his contract ends this week...It's like from a publicity standpoint it sounds so much better when his contract expires than you fire a guy whose contract is not up. So they allowed the man's contract to run out roughly the same week that if they had fired him then they would have stopped paying him. Essentially, when they were making the list of guys, he was on that list," Meltzer said.

It is the second time Adonis has left WWE, having first been released by the company in 2021 when he was a part of Hit Row. His last match was a loss to Ricky Saints on the June 24 edition of NXT.
