Alberto Del Rio Arrested

Reports from Noticieros San Luis Potosí and Milenio in Mexico have noted that Alberto El Patron has been arrested on charges of domestic violence.

El Patron – real name José Alberto Rodríguez Chucuan – was arrested in San Luis Potosí by authorities on Monday, April 6 after allegedly physically and verbally assaulting his partner. The victim, who allegedly suffered injuries to her face and arms, called 911. After authorities arrived, they noticed signs of violence, which resulted in El Patron's arrest.

Alberto El Patron has been accused of domestic violence in the past, and he was arrested on one charge of aggravated kidnapping and four sexual assault charges in May 2020. The case was dismissed in December 2021 after a witness did not appear in court.

El Patron previously wrestled in WWE as Alberto Del Rio across two runs between 2009 and 2016. He is a former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, and United States Champion, as well as a former Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank Ladder Match winner.

El Patron was a top star in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide from 2023 until the summer of 2025, which included one reign as AAA Mega Champion. He was de-emphasised in AAA after WWE announced the planned acquisition of the Lucha Libre promotion in April 2025, and El Patron lost to El Mesias on July 25, 2025 in a match which meant he had to leave the promotion.
