Alberto Del Rio was arrested this week following a formal charge over domestic violence. Real name José Alberto Rodríguez Chucuan, he was arrested in San Luis Potosí after allegations of physical and verbal assault on his partner, who had allegedly sustained visible injuries, prompting the arrest in their home. It was noted shortly following this that Del Rio would remain behind bars for the time being in “preventive detention”. Del Rio will now be released.
According to Milenio, Del Rio has been released on a conditional suspension, even with the evidence surmounting to the point where he can be formally charged with repeated domestic violence. It was ruled that Del Rio would need to pay one million one hundred and thirty thousand pesos, equating to over $55,000 as reparation for damage, attend rehab therapy for aggressors, and have zero contact with the victim.
It is also noted that a date has been set for October 29, 2026 to verify his compliance with the release conditions. Del Rio has since been suspended from The Crash promotion in which he has wrestled twice this year. He has been no stranger to legal issues, previously being accused of kidnap and sexual assault before the case was dropped due to the alleged victim not appearing in court.
