2 Cold Scorpio is set to stand trial next month due to his arrest in June 2024 over allegedly stabbing a man at a convenience store in Kansas City, Missouri.
Scorpio - real name Charles Scaggs - will stand trial on November 3. Scaggs has been charged with one count of first-degree assault and one count of armed criminal action. A pre-trial hearing was held on October 22 and Scaggs' attorney noted he would be claiming self-defence at the trial.
Scaggs was arrested in the early hours of June 15, 2024 following a six-to-seven-minute altercation with a man at a Love's Travel Stop where Scaggs worked as a security guard. The probable cause statement noted that Scaggs confronted the man over smoking indoors, at which point the situation escalated and resulted in a physical altercation outside of the store.
The accounts from Scaggs and the victim differ on what exactly happened, but police noted that when they arrived at the scene the victim had stab wounds to his head, chest, buttocks, back of the leg, and abdomen. Scaggs had swelling and redness on the left side of his face, a red mark on the bridge of his nose, a thumb laceration, minor scratches, a large scratch on his left forearm/elbow, and redness on his right forearm/elbow.
Charles Scaggs is primarily known for his pro wrestling stints with WCW, ECW, NJPW, Pro Wrestling NOAH, and WWE (as Flash Funk). He has held a number of titles during his career, including the ECW World Television Title, ECW World Tag Team Championships, and WCW World Tag Team Titles.
Scorpio has wrestled several times since his arrest, most recently on August 14 at a co-promoted show between GCW and Juggalo Championship Wrestling where he teamed with Masha Slamovich and The Great Sasuke against Matt Cross, Alice Crowley, and JP Grayson.
