WWE Survivor Series had been an arena show ever since the first edition of the pay-per-view back in 1987, but that changed in 2025 as Survivor Series emanated from San Diego's Petco Park.

WWE announced an attendance of over 46,000 for the November 29 event and WWE may not be done with cementing Survivor Series as a stadium show for the foreseeable future. According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, there is already talk within WWE of running another stadium for next year's Survivor Series.

Key matches at Survivor Series 2025 included the men's and women's WarGames matches. The team of AJ Lee, Rhea Ripley, IYO SKY, Alexa Bliss, and Charlotte Flair won the women's match after Lee tapped out Becky Lynch with the Black Widow. The Vision and Drew McIntyre emerged victorious from the men's match after a masked man scaled the cage and hit CM Punk with a stomp, with Bron Breakker following up with a Spear to Punk for the win.

The men's match, in particular, had implications for WrestleMania 42 as the two world title matches for WWE's biggest show of 2026 were set up.
