WWE Puts Another NXT Talent Under A Mask For AAA Run

A new luchador made their Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide debut during night two 0f Verano de Escandalo on August 8 and it has been confirmed the new AAA talent is another NXT talent under a mask.

The luchador debuted during the Three Way between Psycho Clown, Cruz Del Toro, and El Fiscal to advance in the AAA Latin American Title tournament, with a tall wrestler in a Leatherface-esque mask attacking Psycho Clown from behind on the barricade. The Leatherface talent then ripped off the face of Psycho Clown's mask, before they chokeslammed him onto chairs in the first row. The interference ultimately allowed El Fiscal to hit Cruz Del Toro with a frog splash and pick up the win.

Corey Graves hinted on commentary that the talent was WWE EVOLVE talent Drake Morreaux, and PWInsider has reported that it is indeed Morreaux under the mask.

Real name Beau Morris, Drake Morreaux has been signed to WWE since 2022, having been signed by the company following SummerSlam tryouts that year. He made his in-ring debut in May 2023 and Morreaux has wrestled on NXT Level Up, EVOLVE, and WWE LFG but he has yet to make his in-ring debut on NXT TV proper. Morreaux is the boyfriend of fellow WWE talent Roxanne Perez.

Another WWE developmental talent heading to Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide is Elijah Holyfield, with Shawn Michaels announcing the switch for the son of Evander Holyfield on Sunday's episode of WWE LFG.

Other WWE wrestlers to end up under a mask in recent years includes Chad Gable as Original El Grande Americano, Ludwig Kaiser as El Grande Americano, Tyler Bate as Bravo Americano, and Pete Dunne as Rayo Americano.
