WWE Brings Back Brock Lesnar At SummerSlam 2025 Despite Him Being Named In Janel Grant's Lawsuit

Janel Grant's lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon may still be ongoing, a lawsuit in which Brock Lesnar is named, but the company brought him back anyway in the closing moments of SummerSlam 2025.

After John Cena had dropped the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes in the main event, the two men embraced before Rhodes vacated the ring for Cena. The 17-time world champion then soaked in the adulation of the fans when Brock Lesnar's music suddenly filled MetLife Stadium. Brock then marched to the ring and took down Cena with an F5 as SummerSlam went off the air.

Brock Lesnar had not appeared on WWE programming since SummerSlam 2023, with a planned early 2024 return being scrapped after Lesnar was implicated in the sex trafficking lawsuit filed by Janel Grant in January of 2024.

Although not a defendant, Lesnar was then named in Grant's amended lawsuit in January of 2025. Amongst the allegations, it is alleged that Vince McMahon informed Grant in July 2021 that Lesnar would be her next "playmate" during talks over a new WWE deal for Brock. McMahon then directed Grant to produce "personalized sexual content" for Lesnar. The former WWE Champion allegedly flew to Connecticut on July 21 for a "business dinner" and a sexual encounter with Grant at Vince McMahon's condo, but Lesnar did not return to the condo due to being too intoxicated. 

McMahon continued to allegedly use Grant as a pawn in contract negotiations with Lesnar. After Brock re-signed with WWE, McMahon allegedly texted Grant and said, "Part of the deal was f*cking U."

After Lesnar had been given Janel Grant's phone number in December 2021, he allegedly requested for her to send him a video of her urinating. Grant sent the video, at which point Lesnar informed Grant "if she had not complied with the request, WWE Superstar would have lost any interest in her and then called her a 'bitch.'"

Later in December 2021, Lesnar expressed his desire to arrange a sexual encounter with Grant that was ultimately cancelled due to a snowstorm.
