Oba Femi with NXT Title at WWE NXT New Year's Evil

Rumours and reports continue to circulate on Saturday, October 4, with stories emerging across NXT, AEW, and the WWE main roster. We’ll take a look at the latest on former NXT Champion Oba Femi getting a call-up to the main roster, the reasoning behind Andrade’s move to AEW, and more.

Oba Femi Expected To Stay In WWE NXT?

At the recent NXT No Mercy 2025 premium live event, Oba Femi’s unstoppable run as NXT Champion came to an end at the hands of Ricky Saints, who defeated Femi to win the NXT Title. Given Femi’s incredible talent, swift rise in NXT, and the need for fresh faces on the main roster, there was a belief from many fans that his title loss would mean a call-up to Monday Night RAW or Friday Night SmackDown. In the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer gave an update on Femi’s future.

When it comes to internal belief, most in WWE are expecting Oba Femi to remain in NXT. It is said that there are still creative plans for Femi in NXT going forwards, with no current talk of him leaving the developmental brand. While this report does note that many call-ups are kept quiet before they end up happening, the current plan is for no call-up at this time.

AEW Brought In Andrade To Help With The Mexican Audience

Just weeks removed from being a WWE superstar, Andrade El Idolo is now back in AEW. After being fired from WWE for reported Wellness Policy violations, Andrade made his official return to AEW on this week’s six year anniversary edition of AEW Dynamite, attacking Kenny Omega and siding with Don Callis, joining the ever-growing Don Callis Family faction. When it comes to why AEW made the decision to re-sign Andrade, Dave Meltzer gave some insight in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The idea behind bringing Andrade is due to his name value as a Hispanic star. Andrade is a big name in Mexico, and it is noted that AEW wants to help expand their audience and build the company up in the country, especially with their position on Fox Sports Mexico. AEW has plenty of hispanic names across the roster, but Andrade is one of the more recognisable. It was also noted this week by Fightful Select that Andrade’s AEW contract was finalized within the last week, but there were creative discussions and plans laid out before things were signed and sealed.

Bronson Reed WWE Contract Details

Bronson Reed has had plenty of spotlight across WWE programming in 2025, returning after an injury to join The Vision faction alongside both Seth Rollins & Bron Breakker. Reed has been a constant presence in main event matches on TV, and has been featured on multiple premium live events. When it comes to his WWE future, he had already re-committed to the company some time ago, per a report from Fightful Select

It was noted by sources that Bronson Reed had signed a new multi-year deal “a long time ago”, and is now working himself into the position to put pen to paper for another new contract in the next year or so. It seems clear that Reed has WWE in his sights for the foreseeable future, and vice versa.
