WWE carried out releases on Friday, October 10 and those cuts may not be finished, while there is also an update on if Booker T received any heat over his "pop my d*ck" slip of the tongue from a recent edition of NXT.

Amid WWE's releases, two ID contracts were actually renewed. Whether The Hardys' have renewed their contracts with TNA, however, is currently unknown.

The likes of Wes Lee, Stevie Turner, Lance Anoa'i, BJ Ray, and Jamar Hampton were all released by WWE on Friday, with it being reported the cuts were not budget-related and were instead due to WWE cycling out talent who the company believes have not improved enough.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer also noted that if WWE believe a wrestler is not progressing fast enough or doesn't have what it takes to work on the main roster, WWE will release them to make room for somebody new. Alvarez also reported there could be more cuts coming at some point this week.

Some of the names released on Friday were a part of the WWE ID programme, while Kylie Rae revealed last week that she had been informed her WWE ID contract was not being renewed. Zayda Steel, however, noted she had opted not to renew her deal with WWE ID.

Amidst the departures from the programme, BodySlam has reported that WWE EVOLVE Champion Jackson Drake actually had his ID contract renewed.

Drake is a part of Vanity Project and has been EVOLVE Champion since June 4 when he won a four-way which also included Edris Enofe, Keanu Carver, and Sean Legacy.

Update On The Hardys' TNA Contracts

Following reports that The Hardys' contracts with TNA Wrestling were expiring in November, TNA President Carlos Silva hinted the legendary tag team would be sticking around, tweeting: "Thank you to Matt and Jeff for being part of the @ThisIsTNA team. Such a pleasure to work with you and look forward to many years of positive vibes together."

Since Silva's tweet, Fightful Select has reported that TNA sources haven't heard about a contract extension for Matt and Jeff Hardy, but they wouldn't be surprised to see it happen.

Matt and Jeff began their latest runs with TNA in 2024, with Matt returning at Rebellion before Jeff made his own comeback at Against All Odds. The two sides have enjoyed working together over the past year.

John Cena and AJ Styles ended their rivalry with another great match at WWE Crown Jewel as the two former WWE champions paid tribute to a number of their past opponents and friends in the business.

Cena also paid tribute to Styles with Alicia Taylor's introduction for Mr. TNA, during which Styles was described as the "definition of Total Nonstop Action" and "the Undisputed Boss of Bullet Club."

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that John Cena legitimately wrote the in-ring introduction for AJ Styles and 'The Phenomenal One' didn't know it was going to happen.

Last week's episode of AEW Dynamite went off the air with the continuation of the programme between Darby Allin and Jon Moxley as Darby was tackled to the ground by security when he looked to utilise a Molotov cocktail against the leader of the Death Riders.

Some speculated AEW security legitimately didn't know about the planned angle, with AEW Head of Security Sam Hemingway playing into the speculation by tweeting: "My actions had nothing to do with the 'show' and everything to do with the safety of others. You can debate the tackle. I'm just glad we're not dealing with the alternative headlines that read unhinged AEW talent seriously injured Jacksonville fans. Numerous lawsuits are filed."

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that Hemingway was, of course, informed of the Darby spot on Dynamite, but he wanted to make his reaction look legitimate.

Did Booker T Receive Heat Over 'Pop My D*ck' Line From WWE NXT?

Booker T had an unfortunate slip of the tongue during the September 9 episode of NXT as after Tiffany Stratton entered the WWE Performance Center to stand alongside Stephanie Vaquer, the NXT commentator said, "I gotta pop my d*ck, man."

Sean Ross Sapp noted on a Fightful Select Answers Q&A there was no heat on Booker T over the comment as people in the company knew he meant to say "pop my neck" and considered his line a funny slip of the tongue.
