Seth Rollins has not been seen on WWE programming since all the way back at SummerSlam 2026, where he lost in a World Heavyweight Championship match against Roman Reigns. In the two months since, Rollins has been competing on WWE house shows, showing up regularly during the promotion’s South America tour, and also competing in a recent dark match after an episode of Friday Night SmackDown. His current schedule is making fans ask why he hasn’t returned to TV.
According to a report from Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are a couple of small reasons behind his extended absence. It is noted that Rollins is dealing with a minor injury, with WWE giving him time to heal up, though this wouldn’t necessarily coincide with the fact that he has been competing in matches. It should be noted that Rollins is only wrestling in multi-man bouts, which may mean that he is gradually working himself back into in-ring shape. It is also noted in the report that WWE is holding off on a Rollins return to ensure that his comeback has “maximum impact” and that they are looking for the right time to bring him back.
Rollins recently spoke on his WWE future, revealing that he still had a few years left on his current deal with the company.
