Why Ricky Sosa Has Been Absent From TNA

Viral sensation Ricky Sosa has been absent from TNA Wrestling for the past several weeks and the reason for his hiatus has been revealed.

According to PWInsider's Mike Johnson, Sosa was given time off by TNA so he could assist with a personal situation back home. Sosa is not injured and, in fact, he has been active on the European independent wrestling scene amid his TNA absence, wrestling for the likes of wXw, BZW, Pro Wrestling Holland, Brussels Young Wrestling Style, and BodyZoi Wrestling Factory.

Ricky Sosa made his TNA debut in early March, with Sosa's entrance and catchphrase of "Bang. Bang. Sosa. Sosa" quickly going viral. Sosa was subsequently signed by TNA Wrestling, putting pen to paper on a contract at Sacrifice on March 27.

Sosa has been absent from TNA Wrestling since the April 9 episode of Thursday Night IMPACT when he was laid out with a piledriver from Eric Young. When the 21-year-old will return to TNA is unknown.

Ricky Sosa began his pro wrestling career in 2021. He is a former wXw European Champion, having held the belt for 119 days until he dropped the title to Zoltan on April 11.
