Dragon Lee has been absent from WWE programming since WrestleMania 42 and the reason for his current hiatus has been revealed.
Unprompted, the luchador tweeted "2-3 weeks" on X/Twitter on Wednesday. Cory Hays, formerly of Bodyslam, has since reported the word coming out of WrestleMania 42 was that Dragon Lee was banged up, and Lee's tweet appears to be related to that.
Dragon Lee competed in the Six-Pack Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 42 alongside Penta, Rusev, Je'Von Evans, Rey Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. Lee was favouring his leg while heading to the back with Penta and Rey Mysterio following the contest.
Dragon Lee has been a part of WWE since December 2022 and he has been featured on the main roster since September 2023. Across his WWE run, Lee is a one-time NXT North American Champion, one-time WWE Speed Champion, and one-time WWE World Tag Team Champion with AJ Styles. In addition to working the WWE main roster, Dragon Lee has been a regular in Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide since WWE and Fillip acquired the promotion in 2025.
Lee signed a three-year deal upon joining WWE and he inked a contract extension in 2023. As of October 2025, Dragon Lee's contract was believed to be expiring in 2026, potentially around September.
