Update On Likelihood Of Seth Rollins Cashing In At WWE SummerSlam 2025

The main event of SummerSlam will feature Gunther vs. CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship, but the Money in the Bank contract held by Seth Rollins has loomed over the match, particularly due to Rollins' long-running issues with CM Punk.

Reports have noted the original plan for SummerSlam was for Rollins to cash in the Money in the Bank contract for the World Heavyweight Title following an injury angle at Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12. The injury angle did happen at the show, although the severity of the injury Rollins is dealing with is unknown. The idea would be that Rollins and Paul Heyman outsmarted everyone.

Fightful Select noted ahead of SummerSlam that those they had spoken to did not expect a Money in the Bank cash-in on night one of the pay-per-view. Although it was noted that even if it happened, any plans would be kept close to the vest.

A potential spoiler on the result of the World Heavyweight Championship match emerged ahead of SummerSlam, with it being reported that Gunther is dealing with a nose issue that may require Der Ring General to take time off.
