Karrion Kross' popularity amongst WWE fans has blossomed over the past several months, with the former NXT Champion receiving a positive reception to his promos, particularly on social media.

Kross' popularity has largely not been reflected in his usage on WWE programming, with five of Kross' seven matches in 2025 taking place on Main Event. He has only had one singles match on Raw in 2025 in a loss to AJ Styles ahead of WrestleMania 41.

Kross will compete in his first pay-per-view match since WrestleMania 40 on June 28, however, when he faces Sami Zayn in singles action at Night of Champions.

A recent claim from Wade Keller of PWTorch noted that Kross' fellow pro wrestlers don't believe he will ever be pushed as a top star in WWE because the 39-year-old allegedly "doesn't really take bumps."

This point of view is not shared by backstage personnel, though. Fightful Select has reported that multiple people who have produced Kross' matches in the past claimed that Kross not bumping has never been an issue they have encountered.

Karrion Kross initially debuted for WWE in 2020. He is in his second run with the company, although his contract is due to expire later this summer.
