Tyler Breeze No Longer Signed With WWE

Tyler Breeze is no longer under contract with WWE, the former NXT Tag Team Champion has revealed.

Following a fan conversation about Austin Creed joining AEW allowing for a partial reunion of DaParty with Adam Cole and Claudio Castagnoli, Tyler Breeze noted he is also available to join such a reunion. Upon further questioning, Breeze revealed: "I was under a deal with WWE. Not anymore."

Breeze confirmed on The Certified Mark Show that his deal expired at the beginning of August.

"My contract technically ended at the start of August. I was with WWE for 16 years. So I had a really cool deal. The deal that just ended in August, I was able to do WWE stuff, I was able to do independents, I was able to kind of do third-party stuff. I was able to do all this stuff. A one-of-a-kind deal that was never seen before and will never be seen again," he said.

Tyler Breeze had been an in-ring talent for WWE from 2010 until his release on June 25, 2021. It was noted in 2023, however, that Breeze was still technically under contract with WWE under a deal for him to work on the UpUpDownDown brand.

Breeze referred to himself as a "jack of all trades" for WWE in early 2026 as he began working as a writer on NXT in 2025 alongside his UpUpDownDown duties and assistance with the development of the WWE 2K video games through providing feedback. Breeze also wrestled at NXT Homecoming 2025, unsuccessfully challenging for the NXT North American Championship.

Alongside his now-former WWE duties, Tyler Breeze has wrestled on the indies since 2023, working 41 matches since a two-year hiatus after his 2021 WWE release. Breeze also owns the Flatbacks training school in Florida with Shawn Spears.

Since confirming his WWE exit, Breeze has noted on X/Twitter that he "would love to be a part of AEW", but Breeze went further on The Certified Mark Show, admitting he would have already reached out to AEW if it wasn't for UpUpDownDown.

"Back in 2021 when they let me go, in reality, I should have gone or tried to go to AEW. I should have reached out and I should have tried to go there, but because of UpUpDownDown, I went, ‘You know what? I’m gonna stay for UpUp because I love UpUp.’ UpUp is one of those things where if I left to go wrestle, yes the wrestling would be cool but, man, I’m really having fun with my friends doing this other stuff. UpUp was a big thing for me where if it wasn’t for UpUp I would have already reached out to AEW and tried to go there," Breeze added.

"Now, as we’ve kind of been navigating this next part, I’ve said it several times and people say it almost like it’s a big surprise, but like, yeah, I’m open to AEW. I’m open to TNA, I’m open to Maple Leaf. Whatever’s out there that isn’t WWE, I’m open to it. I’m not done wrestling. I’ve been wanting to wrestle. I’ve been wrestling on the independents for the past five years. There was a couple of things that restricted me from wrestling on a TV company but now I have no restrictions. So yeah, I’m 100 per cent open to all of it."

UpUpDownDown has been inactive since April of 2026, with Austin Creed departing WWE in early May after being granted his release when The New Day were asked to take pay cuts by WWE.
