Top AEW Star Expected To Return Soon

One of All Elite Wrestling’s top stars is expected to return to the company soon after a multi-month absence from the promotion.

Having not been on TV since late 2024, a report from Fightful Select suggests that Darby Allin is expected back soon, having completed his expedition up Mount Everest.

AEW originally hoped the former TNT Champion would be back in the fold in time for the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament but this did not come to be, with Fightful’s report suggesting Allin could return "imminently." Some in AEW believe he will play some part at AEW All In Texas on July 12.

Allin was written off AEW TV in December 2024 to prepare for Everest, having originally planned to conquer the mountain in 2024. Allin successfully completed his ascent in May 2025.

So far, no creative plans for Darby’s return have been revealed, and it remains to be seen if he will be inserted into the AEW World Championship scene, having been considered for the title in Summer 2024. Allin last held gold in late 2023/early 2024, having enjoyed a run as AEW World Tag Team Champions with Sting.
