At the back end of last month, Penelope Ford was faced with yet another unfortunate injury, landing awkwardly after a moonsault to the outside of the ring and being forced to pull out of her ongoing AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championship match against The Babes Of Wrath, with Megan Bayne needing to carry on with the match herself.
It was revealed soon after that the belief was that Ford had suffered an ankle sprain rather than a broken ankle, and should be back sooner than immediately believed. However, a new update has emerged from Tony Khan himself, suggesting that the timeframe on a return for Ford is up in the air. Taking to a video in social media, Khan covered an array of topics including the status of Ford. He noted that Ford will be ‘out with an injury maybe for weeks, but possibly even up to months.’
Khan didn’t comment on the severity of Ford’s injury, but this timeframe could suggest that things are currently up in the air when it comes to her recovery time and return to AEW programming. AEW did keep Ford on TV during her previous injury, though it wasn’t an ankle injury, but rather an upper body one.
