It was revealed recently that TNA were scaling back on some of their more violent approaches, such as banning the use of blood outside of permitted and special circumstances. This was reportedly due to those in TNA believing they’d gone overboard with blood usage, and lessening the bloodshed would be more beneficial for both sponsors and potential TV deals. It was noted that blood would still be allowed from time to time, but used sparingly to make it mean more.

Fightful Select have reported that TNA is planning on removing some more actions in the follow up to this change in approach to bleeding. For instance, slaps will no longer be allowed without approval by an agent, and any use of a throat slashing gesture in the ring will result in a $100 fine, with that being banned outright.

The response to these internal memos and talks being leaked has not been something that has gone down well in TNA, as Fightful have revealed some unhappiness amongst those in TNA that word of these changes and bans have come out.
