Nixon Newell - who previously wrestled in WWE as Tegan Nox- has admitted she has received a "severe lack of bookings" since being released in late 2024.

After being asked on Wrestling in the Middle how she has found free agency, Newell said:

"Not great, if I'm being honest. Severe lack of bookings. Not sure where that's from, but the bookings that I have done, like I've been home to ATTACK! [Pro Wrestling], which has been phenomenal. Got to wrestle Dani Luna, who's been on my list, God, for years since she first started training I could tell she was going to be something special. So she's been on my list for a very, very long time, so I'm glad that one was in the books at least. But, yeah, it's been slow. Hopefully it picks up soon, because it's a nightmare [laughs]. But hopefully soon it gets better."

Since returning to the ring in March 2025, Newell has only had five matches. All of her bookings have been in the United Kingdom, which has consisted of three matches for ATTACK!, one match for WrestleZone, and one match for New Wave Wrestling.

Tegan Nox was released by WWE for a second time in November 2024. She first signed with the company in 2017 after establishing herself as a star of the UK independent wrestling scene. She was released in 2021 but returned in 2022, only to be rarely utilised by WWE. Nox hadn't won a match outside of Main Event in a year at the time of her release and she hadn't been booked to wrestle since July 2024.

Newell suffered multiple serious knee injuries during her first run with WWE, but the 30-year-old is hoping to dispel any fears that she is injury-prone.

"Did I want it to happen? Yes and no. In a sense of, no, that was my dream job. I've wanted that since I was a kid. All my friends worked there at the time But, yes, I wanted to wrestle, which, you know, still hasn't panned out great," Newell said about her release from WWE.

"But at least now I can do what I want to do and have fun with wrestling again. Instead of just being stuck in the same story with the knees, which was the most disheartening thing to constantly keep doing when my knees - I haven't been injured with my knees since 2019, whenever the last knee surgery was. That was the last time I was hurt with my knees. So it wasn’t like they were injured at all, you know?"

Newell also admitted she is interested in working for All Elite Wrestling but she doesn't believe that interest is reciprocated from Tony Khan's promotion.

"I'm interested, I'd love to go there. But as far as I know, I don't think there's an interest from them, which is a shame. But I would love to go there," she added.
