Lyra Valkyria was originally set to team with Bayley at WWE WrestleMania 41 to take on Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez for the WWE Women's Tag Team Titles, but that match was changed ahead of WrestleMania.
During the WrestleMania night one pre-show, Bayley was shown laid out backstage following an attack. It was then announced by Raw General Manager Adam Pearce that Bayley would be unable to compete and Lyra Valkyria had 24 hours to find a new partner.
Bryan Alvarez has reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that the plan as of Saturday was for Valkyria's new partner to be Becky Lynch in her return to WWE TV.
"They did an angle before WrestleMania where Bayley was laid out. This is the return of Becky Lynch, she is going to be replacing Bayley against Lyra. I suppose if word gets out, they could change it, but that was the plan today," Alvarez said.
It emerged on Saturday that Becky Lynch was scheduled to return at WrestleMania 41. Lynch has not appeared for WWE since her contract expired in June 2024, although she re-signed with the company in the new year.
The plan to pull Bayley from WrestleMania and replace her with Lynch has been the plan for several weeks and Bayley is not legitimately injured. There was reportedly sympathy for Bayley in the locker room due to her being universally respected.
