Former WWE Tag Team Champion Sir Mo (real name Robert Horne) has sadly passed away. He was 58 years old.
News of Horne's passing emerged on his Facebook page after friends and colleagues began to pay tribute to the former WWE wrestler.
Mo had been dealing with health issues since early 2022 and he was hospitalised in mid-July, undergoing major surgery which resulted in 12 inches of his small intestine and 2 inches of his large intestine being removed. Mo was discharged from hospital shortly after the surgery, but he was hospitalised again in early August. He remained in and out of intensive care until his passing.
Bobby Horne began his pro wrestling career in 1991 and after a couple of WWE enhancement matches, he began teaming with Nelson Frazier (AKA Mabel, Viscera & Big Daddy V) in 1993 as the Harlem Knights, where they enjoyed success in the PWF.
The tag team soon signed with WWE and they were repackaged as Mabel and Mo of Men on a Mission. They teamed together in the company until early 1996, during which they held the WWE Tag Team Titles for a two-day reign in 1994, winning the belts from The Quebecers. Mo also became Sir Mo in 1995 following Mabel’s King of the Ring win.
After exiting WWE, Mo was a part of the original Nation of Domination in USWA as Sir Mohammad. He remained involved with pro wrestling until his passing, running SOAR Wrestling since 2016, as well as Sir Mo’s Bumps & Bruises Pro Wrestling Academy in Paris, Texas.
Cultaholic Wrestling sends its deepest condolences to Sir Mo's family and friends.
