There is shock and frustration over WWE moving WrestleMania 42 away from New Orleans, Louisiana.

It suddenly emerged on Thursday night that WrestleMania 42 was no longer planned for New Orleans and the show would instead reportedly be taking place in Las Vegas for the second year in a row, with the event also moving a week back to April 18 and April 19.

Fightful Select has reported that many WWE employees, staff and talent were shocked upon finding out New Orleans would no longer be hosting WrestleMania. Other talents are "largely unfazed", however, as WWE usually take care of the planning and travel for WrestleMania weekend.

There was immediate frustration to the change within the wider pro wrestling industry, though. Fightful noted that Wrestlecon had already signed a venue contract for New Orleans, while PWInsider reported that other companies had already signed venue contracts and the need to change those plans was causing headaches.

Cultaholic has also been told the change has caused some issues for eager fans who had already booked to travel to New Orleans for WrestleMania 42 as they have had to cancel those flights and hotel bookings, losing their deposits as a result.
