Following on from Mike Santana’s controversial loss of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship this week to Frankie Kazarian, dropping the gold after just a month-long reign, several reports emerged in the lead up to the Turning Point last night which suggested that Mike Santana was no-showing meet & greets, refusing contact from TNA, and more. However, there were some rumour-killers on this front, and we now have some more details on that front.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, the news involving Mike Santana was all a work that was being fed to several news platforms. It is noted that the same official who gave this information out tried to send out the same details to Fightful, with it being the first time someone in an “official capacity” had tried to work an angle on Fightful.
Santana did in fact end up making an appearance at TNA’s Turning Point event at the end of the night. PWInsider were among those reporting Santana’s “no-show” issues, also revealing that his TNA deal was expected to be up at the end of the year, with an offer reportedly on the table by TNA for an extension.
