Ric Flair Returning To AEW Next Week

Ric Flair hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since all the way back at the AEW Revolution 2024 PPV, where he appeared as part of Sting’s retirement match in AEW in Greensboro, North Carolina. In the lead up to this, he had been semi-regular alongside Sting on AEW television. Flair revealed the reason he wasn’t being used by AEW despite being under contract was due to him being on blood thinners, with Tony Khan not wanting him to do anything. It is believed that Flair could still appear in WWE despite being under an AEW deal. 

On AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts next week, Ric Flair will be present on the broadcast alongside long-time rival Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat, who has also appeared on AEW programming in the past. Tony Schiavone made the announcement on commentary during last night’s Collision event that Flair & Steamboat would be returning to Greensboro - a site in which they had some legendary clashes. 

Steamboat’s last AEW appearance also came during Sting’s final match in March of 2024 at Revolution, where he served as guest timekeeper for the bout.
