REVEALED: Why Andrade El Idolo Is Actually Out Of Action Following AEW Grand Slam Mexico

Andrade El Idolo won't be on All Elite Wrestling's televised programming this week, and the reason for the reigning AEW National Champion's absence has been revealed.

Andrade himself announced on X/Twitter that he hadn't been feeling well since AEW Grand Slam Mexico and, after visiting a doctor, he had to be out of action "for a few days or weeks."

"Hi everyone and especially Las Señoritas! I've just landed back in Miami, where I live, and I went straight to the DR. I hadn't been feeling well since the Wednesday after the Grand Slam, but as a professional, I had two shows in Canada with MLP. I'll keep you posted, but I have to be out of action for a few days or weeks. It's nothing serious, Take care! but... I have one question?" Andrade tweeted.

There was speculation about whether or not Andrade was actually injured or simply playing up the on-screen angle from Grand Slam Mexico that saw MJF return to AEW TV and attack El Idolo to reclaim the Dynamite diamond ring and proclaim himself as the real AEW World Champion.

That speculation has now been answered, with Fightful Select reporting that Andrade is actually fine and this was a scheduled week off for the 36-year-old. The expectation is Andrade will be back on TV once his scheduled time off is over. The storyline with MJF for AEW All In is still planned.

Andrade earned the #1 spot in the AEW All In Casino Gauntlet at Grand Slam Mexico by winning a Three Way against Tommaso Ciampa and Komander. MJF will have the opportunity to earn the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet on tonight's Dynamite in his own Three Way against "Speedball" Mike Bailey and Nick Wayne.
