Report: WWE Wants To Bring Back Demon Finn Balor For Dominik Mysterio Match

The Demon alter ego of Finn Balor could be set to return in 2026 for Balor's showdown with Dominik Mysterio.

Balor was kicked out of Judgment Day by Dominik Mysterio and co. on the March 9 edition of Monday Night Raw, with an eventual split having been teased for months. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that Balor vs. Mysterio was originally scheduled for SummerSlam 2025 and Balor would have wrestled as the Demon, but WWE ultimately decided to delay those plans.

Whether Balor will end up wrestling as the Demon when he goes one-on-one with Dominik Mysterio has not been made official, but Cory Hays of BodySlam has reported that WWE want Balor to perform as the Demon for the Mysterio contest.

Finn Balor utilised his Demon gimmick for many of his big WWE matches between 2014 and 2019, but the alter ego has seldom been used since then, with Balor admitting in 2020 that the persona didn't quite work on the WWE main roster.

Balor revived the Demon for his Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at Extreme Rules 2022, and Finn last performed as the Demon at 2023's WrestleMania 39 where he faced the Brood version of Edge inside Hell in a Cell.
