There is significant interest within WWE around signing Chris Jericho and there is an expectation within the company that a deal will be completed when Jericho is able to hold talks with WWE.
That is according to WrestleVotes, who reported on WrestleVotes Radio: "We can confirm, after speaking to our sources, that there is significant interest in Chris Jericho coming back to the WWE once his AEW contract would allow him to do so. We're told that several within the WWE, including active talent, would like to see him return to the company. Despite spending the last six years with AEW, Jericho has remained friendly with a number of people inside WWE, we are told, and according to that source, they ultimately do expect a deal to be completed once Chris is legally able to do so."
Unless time has been added, Chris Jericho's contract with All Elite Wrestling is due to expire at the end of 2025. Jericho is an AEW original, having signed with Tony Khan's promotion at the beginning of 2019. He has been absent from AEW TV since April, however, and it was reported this week that there has been "a lot of talk" about Jericho within WWE. That talk hasn't reached WWE creative yet, though.
Jericho previously wrestled for WWE across multiple runs from 1999 until 2018. In addition to being the first-ever Undisputed Champion, Y2J is a three-time World Heavyweight Champion and nine-time Intercontinental Champion in WWE.
