Report: Why Night 1 Of AAA Triplemania 34 Is Taking Place In Las Vegas

The location of night one of AAA Triplemania 34 was revealed over the weekend and it was officially announced the first night of the two-night event will take place at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday, September 11.

The announcement received some criticism from pro wrestling fans due to the number of events that WWE - AAA's parent company with Fillip - have held in Las Vegas over the past couple of years, including both WrestleMania 41 and WrestleMania 42. Night one of AAA Triplemania emanating from Sin City, though, is because of "business reasons", according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.

"The reason that they're doing the Triplemania in Vegas in an 800-seat building… I have been told that there are business reasons because obviously there are, right. My gut is that whether it's sponsors or whether it's people looking for a TV deal or whatever, I think the idea is that they can get them to travel to Vegas, bring them to Vegas. They're not going to go to Mexico City. They're not going to go to Monterrey," Meltzer said.

The venue at the Luxor Hotel and Casino is the 800-seat HyperX Arena, with the decision to hold Triplemania at such a small venue causing some puzzlement. Meltzer noted Triplemania is being held at the arena, though, because WWE want the venue for one of AAA's biggest shows of the year to be packed and the company doesn't want to risk there being any empty seats.

After the Las Vegas show, AAA will hold night two of Triplemania 34 at Arena CDMX in Mexico City on Sunday, September 13. The event will be the third WWE show from Arena CDMX in four days following WWE SmackDown on Friday, September 11 and WWE Raw on Monday, September 14.

Triplemania 34 will be the second edition of AAA's biggest show of the year since WWE and Fillip acquired Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide in 2025. WWE reportedly originally planned for Triplemania 34 to be a one-night event from Arena CDMX on Saturday, September 12 until those plans were changed in the early part of 2026.
