Trick Williams may no longer be WWE United States Champion, but he could soon be Mr. Money in the Bank if initial plans play out.
Williams shockingly lost the US Title to the returning Baron Corbin at WWE SummerSlam Night Two, with many wondering if the loss was a way to get Williams out of the mid-card title scene and start his ascent towards the main event. Per a report from WRKD Wrestling, this is apparently the thinking, with WWE reportedly seeing him as a potential early pick to win the Men’s Money in the Bank briefcase.
This year’s Money in the Bank PLE will take place on October 10, the first time the event will take place in October and the first time to take place after SummerSlam, having taken place between May and July for the previous 16 iterations.
Since being called up to WWE’s main roster in January 2026, Williams has cemented himself as a fan favourite and has been pegged by many as having the potential to step-up and be ‘the guy’. Since signing with WWE in 2021, Williams has won the United States Championship, NXT Championship (on two occasions), NXT North American Championship, and the TNA World Championship.
