Report: No Plans For NXT PLE During WWE SummerSlam 2025 Weekend

WWE premium live events are usually a multi-day wrestling spectacle, but it seems WWE could be flipping the script for the upcoming SummerSlam event on August 2 and August 3, 2025.

The first ever two-night SummerSlam, WWE are heading to MetLife Stadium for the ‘Party of the Summer’, however it seems as though there will be no NXT PLE slated for the weekend, with WrestleVotes saying the following on a Backstage Pass Q&A:

“No, NXT will not be doing anything tied into SummerSlam weekend as of now. They do have their own event. It will be taking place at the end of August and we’re looking to nail down the date and location of that ASAP.”

Especially for the ‘bigger’ events on the calendar, WWE will usually run SmackDown, NXT, the PLE in question, and Raw from the same city, with the recent WrestleMania 41 weekend seeing WWE run multiple shows across the course of the weekend.

NXT are set to run Battleground on May 25 in Tampa, Florida, with WWE running Saturday Night’s Main Event XXXIX in the same city on the same weekend.
