Cody Rhodes is reportedly in talks to join the cast of the upcoming live action Street Fighter reboot, with Rhodes potentially set to join Roman Reigns in the movie.
Reigns was recently confirmed to be playing Akuma in the latest adaptation of Capcom’s classic beat ‘em up series, and a report from Nexus Point News suggests that Rhodes is in talks to play Guile, stepping into Jean-Claude Van Damme’s boots.
JCVD memorably played Guile in the cult classic Street Fighter 1994 live-action adaptation, with the blonde flat-topped green camo sporting all-American instead portrayed as a brunette, blue camo sporting Belgian. It is safe to say that if Rhodes does indeed get the part of Guile, the adaptation will be a little closer to the source material.
Alongside Reigns, Street Fighter will feature Jason Momoa, 50 Cent, Noah Centineo, and Andrew Koji, amongst others, with Koji and Centineo portraying series leads Ryu and Ken Masters respectively. If Rhodes does sign on to portray Guile, it is unknown how much time he would miss from WWE TV.
