Raven - real name Scott Levy - has revealed he has been diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease due to years of alcohol and drug abuse and a pro wrestling career filled with chair shots to the head.
Appearing on the Ariel Helwani Show, Raven noted he is "as content as I've ever been…other than this stupid tremor I got from the Parkinson's."
The former ECW World Heavyweight Champion then added: "I'm lucky. It hasn't affected me too bad. When I get anxious, the tremor gets worse or if I'm really tired. I have a sleep disorder. You gotta pay the piper sometime. For all the drugs and alcohol and chair shots I took to the head, you gotta pay for the damage at some point."
Raven admitted he has "tons of regrets", but wouldn't have changed anything in his life.
"It made me who I am. I'm happy with who I am. I'd rather be happy with who I am at the end of my life rather than earlier in my life and not be happy at the end," Raven added.
Raven appeared on the Ariel Helwani Show ahead of the release of Nevermore: The Raven Effect. The documentary will have special screenings in Philadelphia this weekend and it will be released on Amazon Prime on November 18.
Raven had a hall of fame career across ECW, WCW, TNA, ROH, and WWE, during which he became a multi-time world champion and led one of the most fondly remembered factions of the 1990s in Raven's Nest/Raven's Flock.
