Raja Jackson - the son of Quinton "Rampage" Jackson - was arrested and charged with a felony on Thursday, September 18 over his attack of Syko Stu at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event on Saturday, August 23.
Booking records for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department note Jackson was arrested at 9 am local time on September 18 and booked at 1:39 pm at the Van Nuys office of the Los Angeles Police Department. As of the time of writing, Jackson remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
The LAPD had been investigating the incident at KnoxK Pro since August 23, having been called to the scene, and pro wrestler Doug Malo claimed there was state involvement in the investigation. Facebook Messenger messages also revealed that KnokX Pro management asked wrestlers not to cooperate with the investigation without speaking to them first.
Raja Jackson's arrest came after he brutally attacked Syko Stu - real name Stuart Smith - at a KnokX Pro show in Sun Valley, California on August 23. Issues between Jackson and Stu began earlier in the evening while Jackson was backstage streaming on Kick, having been invited to the show by AJ Mana. Due to Jackson being backstage, Stu mistook him for a wrestler and hit Raja with a beer can.
Jackson immediately became angry and Stu apologised several times after he realised Raja was not a fellow wrestler. Jackson initially refused to shake Stu's hand but eventually agreed after it was decided that Jackson would perform a run-in during Stu's match on the show.
AJ Mana later encouraged Raja to "give Stu a receipt", to which Jackson replied that he would be happy as long as he "gets his lick back." Jackson then became increasingly angry ahead of the planned angle as the live chat on Kick asked why he didn't knock Stu out, while Rampage called his son and allegedly made several homophobic comments about pro wrestling. This led to the point where shortly before the angle, Raja noted on stream that he was going to hit Syko Stu as hard as he could until he was pulled away.
When the run-in took place, Raja Jackson entered the ring and slammed Stu to the mat, knocking him unconscious. Jackson then punched an unconscious Stu 21 times until he was pulled away by several wrestlers.
Following the incident, Syko Stu was transported to hospital and was hospitalised for a week with serious injuries. A GoFundMe has raised over $220,000.
KnokX Pro - the promotion owned by Rikishi and Black Pearl - was dropped by the WWE ID programme following the incident, and Rikishi is reportedly planning to overhaul the wrestling school after they lost several students. AJ Mana, meanwhile, was suspended from his real-life job due to the incident, and claimed that he was in character on the Kick stream.
