WWE President Nick Khan expects pro wrestling fans to follow the company from Peacock to ESPN when WWE's pay-per-views/premium live events switch services in the United States next year.
"Will the subs follow the product to whatever that new platform is? I think we've demonstrated to Peacock our subs will follow. They certainly all followed from the WWE Network, and that expanded that subscriber-ship extensively with Peacock. There is obviously other product at Peacock to watch, which our fans who primarily subscribe for us were able to sample. Same will be the case with ESPN and we're excited for that," Khan said on The Varsity.
It was announced on August 6 that the rights to WWE pay-per-views in the United States would move to ESPN in 2026. Every WWE pay-per-view will air on ESPN's direct-to-consumer service, while select major events will also be broadcast on ESPN's linear TV platforms.
A subscription to ESPN's DTC platform will cost $29.99 per month, but certain cable subscribers with access to ESPN will also be able to access the DTC service for free.
WWE will pocket $1.6 billion over five years from the deal with ESPN.
