Maxwell Jacob Friedman won't be gone from All Elite Wrestling for too much longer.
Fightful Select has reported that MJF will be returning to AEW "soon" and he is factored into the promotion's plans by December. The exact date of MJF's planned return, however, is unknown.
MJF has been away from AEW since losing to Mark Briscoe at All Out on September 20. The loss came just one day after MJF dropped the CMLL Light Heavyweight Title to Mistico at CMLL's 92nd Anniversary show.
MJF's absence from TV has been due to his acting commitments. The former AEW World Champion has been in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada as part of filming for Violent Night 2, the action comedy starring David Harbour as a grumpy Santa Claus.
MJF has reportedly caught the acting bug since accepting his first role. In addition to his upcoming part in Violent Night 2, MJF has appeared in Happy Gilmore 2, where he played one of the titular character's sons. Friedman was also an executive producer on The Iron Claw and he had a brief cameo in the movie as Lance Von Erich.
