After 21 years inside the squared circle, Madison Rayne has retired from professional wrestling.
Rayne teamed with Deonna Purrazzo in a loss to Billie Starkz and Diamante on the January 1 episode of Ring of Honor TV, with the match being filmed at the Hammerstein Ballroom on December 21. In a backstage segment, Rayne did not outright say she was retired, but the 39-year-old noted the show was the end of an era for her and that she is finding purpose following her father's passing through coaching.
Madison Rayne has been a part of All Elite Wrestling since 2022 as a wrestler/coach. Her husband Josh Mathews signed with the promotion in 2025, working on the production side of AEW.
Rayne began her pro wrestling career in 2005 and she primarily wrestled for TNA across multiple runs between 2009 and 2022, becoming a five-time TNA Knockouts World Champion and three-time Knockouts World Tag Team Champion. Rayne also performed for Ring of Honor while the promotion was owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group, and she competed in the 2018 WWE Mae Young Classic. Rayne had 28 matches across AEW and Tony Khan's ROH after signing with the company in 2022.
