In an update on the future of Lucha Underground, the official Lucha Underground YouTube channel has announced that three episodes from the cult series will be uploaded to the channel every week on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

"New episodes. Three days a week. Step back inside The Temple with Lucha Underground – new episodes drop every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. High-flying chaos. Brutal rivalries. Legendary matches. Subscribe and don’t miss a fight," Lucha Underground wrote on YouTube.

Past episodes of the series have been uploaded to the Lucha Underground YouTube channel in the United States in recent months, with the channel currently up to episode 19 of season one. The videos are region-blocked, however, including in the United Kingdom, but Lucha Underground was recently made available to Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the UK.

Lucha Underground, after years of inactivity, fuelled speculation about the brand's future when an AI video of a Lucha Libre mask was posted on X/Twitter in April. It was revealed soon after that the tease was due to plans to make past episodes of Lucha Underground available, with YouTube ultimately being the home of those episodes in the United States.

Four seasons of Lucha Underground aired from October 2014 until November 2018. The show was produced by United Artists, MGM Television, and One Three Media and was broadcast on the El Rey Network in the United States. It was reported earlier this year that MGM and Amazon hold a controlling interest in Lucha Underground and Amazon are believed to be happy with the library.

Stars of Lucha Underground included Penta, Rey Fenix, El Mesias (as Mil Muertes), Swerve Strickland (as Killshot), Ricochet (as Prince Puma), Drago, John Morrison (as Johnny Mundo), and Brian Cage.
