Amid ongoing hostilities in the Middle East, WWE are scheduled to travel to Saudi Arabia later this week for the June 27 edition of Friday Night SmackDown and Night of Champions on Saturday, June 28.

Tensions in the region increased on June 21 after the United States launched missiles against three nuclear sites in Iran. Israel and Iran had already been in conflict after Israel launched a surprise series of attacks against Iran on June 13.

As of the time of writing, Iran has yet to directly retaliate against the United States over Saturday's attacks but a spokesperson for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya central military headquarters has issued a threat to the United States, saying: "Mr Trump, the gambler, you may start this war, but we will be the ones to end it."

Amidst the ongoing strikes ahead of Night of Champions, a WWE higher-up has told Fightful Select that the company are monitoring the situation. PWInsider noted, however, that WWE talent have not been informed of any changes to their plans for Night of Champions. The current plan is for WWE to begin travelling to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, June 25.

In Saudi Arabia, those working on the event are "full steam ahead" on plans for the show and a local source for Fightful Select doesn't believe the show will be cancelled due to there being too much money at stake. It was also noted that assurances would likely be made to WWE about safety in the region.

The United States Department of State have not updated their travel advisories since the strikes between Israel and Iran began. The current advisory, which has been in place since September 2024, recommends those travelling to Saudi Arabia exercise increased caution.
