Jake Hager has officially retired from pro wrestling, with the former WWE and All Elite Wrestling star having not competed since November 2024.
The former Jericho Appreciation Society member was a recent guest on Saraya’s Rulebreakers podcast, and announced he had hung up his boots in favour of entering the trucking business:
“I’m getting out of wrestling,” Hager stated. “I’m pretty much…I can say I’m retired from it. I started a trucking company…running routes through Tampa and Florida. I’m not driving, not me. I got people driving. I’m excited. It’s something to stick my teeth into, you know. Hard work always pays off,” said Hager, announcing his business was called Haulin’ Oats.
A former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Champion, WWE United States Champion, and the 2010 Money in the Bank winner, Hager brings the curtain down on his career after 18 years in the business. Making the switch to AEW in 2019, Hager would remain with the outfit until 2024, and would later go on to criticise AEW President Tony Khan, labelling the billionaire a ‘communist’.
Hager is also a former MMA competitor, with a record of 3-0 (and one no contest) in Bellator.
