Jack Perry Still Yet To Sign New AEW Contract

The uncertainty around Jack Perry's AEW future continues to drag on, and Perry has still not put pen to paper on a new deal with All Elite Wrestling.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that as of July 7, Jack Perry had still not re-signed with AEW and his contract is due to expire very shortly. Unlike other instances in AEW of talent having expiring contracts, Perry has remained on AEW TV, with his most recent match seeing him lose to Zack Sabre Jr. on the June 24 episode of Dynamite.

It emerged back in mid-June that Jack Perry's AEW deal was expiring and the two sides were in talks over a new contract. AEW CEO Tony Khan expressed confidence that Jack Perry won't be leaving AEW ahead of Forbidden Door during the pre-PPV media call, saying:

"The plan for AEW and Jack Perry is for Jack to be here for a long time. I believe that ‘Jungle’ Jack Perry’s a great wrestler for many years. I continue to feel that way. I like Jack very, very much personally and I think he’s got a very bright future in wrestling. He’s got a great mind for wrestling. He’s a great athlete and he loves wrestling.

"It’s been really gratifying to me, and I think for a lot of the fans, the return of ‘Jungle’ Jack Perry and seeing the fans embrace Jack and the great matches he’s been having. It was a major change in the Continental Classic, a huge shift when Darby Allin was knocked out of the tournament, and I think Jack made the most of a huge opportunity entering the Continental Classic. He had some fantastic matches and he hit the ground running and made the most of his run in that tournament, and continued since then having fantastic matches. So I'm very happy for ‘Jungle’ Jack Perry and the plan is for Jack to be in AEW for a long time. So that is going to happen."

Across his seven-year stint in AEW, Jack Perry is a one-time AEW World Tag Team Champion, one-time TNT Champion, one-time AEW National Champion, and one-time FTW Champion.
