Hulk Hogan's widow Sky Daily is considering legal action over the WWE Hall of Famer's passing.
Hogan - real name Terry Bollea - passed away on July 24 at 71 years old. Hogan's official cause of death was ruled to be a heart attack, while the controversial former pro wrestler also had a history of chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, a rare type of cancer.
Hogan had been suffering from health issues since undergoing neck fusion surgery in May, however, and it emerged following the Hulkster's death that his passing may have been the result of medical malpractice, as his phrenic nerve was allegedly severed during the neck surgery. The phrenic nerve is essential to a human's ability to breathe as it controls the diaphragm, and it was noted Hogan did not have a chest-clenching episode and simply stopped breathing during his heart attack.
Sky Daily has told Daily Mail that she is considering taking legal action over Hogan's May neck surgery, while TMZ has reported that Daily is planning to file a medical malpractice lawsuit against at least one of Hogan's doctors and others.
Daily said to Daily Mail: "We are investigating for possible malpractice. If you have shortness of breath for a long time, that makes you very sick. It's not something that's an alarming (sudden) cause of death. It's something that wears on you, makes you weak."
Daily further claimed that Hogan's phrenic nerve was damaged in May during his neck surgery and it "definitely" contributed to his death on July 24.
A private autopsy has been carried out since Hogan's passing, although the results have not been disclosed. Hogan's corpse is still at a funeral home in Clearwater, Florida but Daily noted he will be cremated shortly.
