Fuego Del Sol after unmasking

The artist formerly known as Fuego Del Sol has not retired from professional wrestling after all.

Fuego lost a Mask versus Career match to Atticus Cogar at Joey Janela's Spring Break 9 (on April 18), after which he unmasked before leaving both his mask and boots in the middle of the ring. Later, on social media, Fuego announced his retirement.

However, at GCW CRAZY SCARY SPOOK HILARIOUS (on May 3), an unmasked Fuego returned and turned on his best friend, Sam Stackhouse, while aligning with Cogar. Following his return/turn, he posted a video on social media explaining his actions and revealing his new name.

He noted that Fuego Del Sol died when he became a free agent following his AEW departure and that now, as KJ Orso, he was ready to move forward in his career.

It remains to be seen whether KJ Orso gets another shot with AEW, as Fuego Del Sol was unsure if Tony Khan ever bought into him. The 29-year-old has worked occasional matches for Ring of Honor since leaving AEW.
