Another sign has emerged to suggest that Enzo Amore looks to be on his way back to WWE.
Those close to Enzo Amore have told Fightful Select that some independent wrestling promoters have been informed Amore, who wrestles as Real1, was not accepting bookings which he would normally take. Those promoters are operating under the assumption that Amore is headed back to WWE and will be signing with the organisation.
It emerged last week that WWE had been in contact with Enzo Amore and the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion was at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida on May 19. It was then reported that WWE were interested in bringing Enzo Amore and Big Bill back to the company as a duo, and Enzo & Cass have maintained a positive relationship with a number of WWE producers.
Big Cass is currently signed to All Elite Wrestling as Big Bill but his deal was expected to expire at some point around the end of May or beginning of June. AEW sources noted to Fightful that Big Bill hasn't been discussed within the promotion that they have heard of, and he hasn't wrestled for AEW or Ring of Honor since early April.
Enzo & Cass were previously a popular tag team within WWE from 2013 until they split in the summer of 2017. After they became singles talents, both wrestlers found themselves released by WWE in 2018, with Enzo being let go in January 2018 after he was accused of sexual assault. The Phoenix Police Department investigation was dropped in May 2018 due to insufficient evidence.
The interest in Real1 and Big Bill comes amidst reports that WWE are looking to rebuild their tag team divisions on Raw and SmackDown. The latest tag team WWE are said to be interested in is AEW's FTR, although they are under contract into 2027.
