El Grande Americano is set to make his AAA debut, with the ‘lucha legend’ set to appear for the promotion in Mexico.

Despite his status as an icon of lucha libre, this will be the first foray into the Mexican market for the controversial star. Per Lucha Libre AAA, Americano will be in Mexcio City for AAA TV on July 25, although no opponent has yet been named for Americano.

Some have suggested that Ludwig Kaiser is under the mask which is ridiculous as Kaiser is German whilst Americano is Mexican. Likewise, some also suggested that Chad Gable was behind the gimmick which is equally ridiculous as Chad Gable doesn’t wear a mask, and El Grande Americano does.

For the record, Gable has technically wrestled in a AAA ring, unsuccessfully challenging AAA Mega Champion El Hijo Del Vikingo at AAA x WWE Worlds Collide in June 2025 - the first major show between the two brands after WWE announced they were acquiring the promotion during WrestleMania XLI weekend.

El Grande Americano last wrestled on the July 7 edition of WWE RAW, picking up a victory over Dragon Lee in singles action. Prior to this Americano last wrestled on the June 17 edition of WWE Speed, with a successful Speed Title defence against Berto.
