Dominik Mysterio was recently taken off WWE TV after suffering a shoulder injury in AAA, with it hoped the injury was not a serious one.

It seems as though Mysterio has avoided the worst, with an update from Fightful Select stating that Mysterio will not require surgery. WWE are hopeful that ‘Dirty’ Dom will be cleared in time for Royal Rumble week at the end of January 2026.

Dominik picked up the injury during the main event of AAA Guerra De Titanes on December 20, a match where Dominik and Los Gringos Americanos partner El Grande Americano lost to Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix.

WWE previously stated the current Intercontinental and AAA Mega Champion would be out of action ‘indefinitely’ after picking up the injury, with it initially believed that Mysterio had suffered a separated shoulder.

It can be assumed that WWE and AAA will not strip Mysterio of his championships, with the third generation star in the midst of his second IC title reign, and his first with the AAA Mega Championship, having defeated El Hijo del Vikingo for the latter in September at WWE x AAA Worlds Collide.
