WWE's head-to-head pay-per-view with AEW All Out will feature one of the founders of All Elite Wrestling in a prominent spot.

The as-yet-unannounced WWE Wrestlepalooza pay-per-view will emanate from Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, September 20 and PWInsider has reported that the word making the rounds backstage at WWE Raw is that Cody Rhodes will defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre at the pay-per-view.

Rhodes and Drew McIntyre have been involved in a programme in recent weeks since Cody regained the WWE Championship from John Cena at SummerSlam, with McIntyre putting Cody through the announce table with a Claymore on the August 8 edition of SmackDown.

Also planned for WWE Wrestlepalooza is Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena in a match that was set up in the closing moments of SummerSlam when Lesnar made his return and laid out Cena with an F5. Lesnar had been off WWE TV since SummerSlam 2023, with a planned early 2024 return being scrapped after he was named in Janel Grant's sex trafficking lawsuit against WWE and Vince McMahon. Lesnar is still named in that lawsuit, but WWE's legal team cleared him for a return in the weeks before SummerSlam 2025.

With the show yet to be made official as of the time of writing, how WWE Wrestlepalooza will air is also unknown, but reports have noted the show will air on ESPN.
