Ring of Honor Global Wars returned, as ROH teamed up with CMLL inside Arena México to record the latest instalment of the series.

The second Global Wars produced under Tony Khan’s ownership of ROH, three matches were taped for the show, with full spoilers ahead:

The opening bout of the card saw ROH World Television Champion Nick Wayne put the belt on the line against Titan. The Arena México crowd gave Wayne a warm welcome, chanting ‘culero’ (‘a**hole’) at the young prodigy. The match went back and forth, but as Titan looked to have control with a submission hold the bell rang for a time limit draw, causing the fans to cuss Wayne out some more.

ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and ROH Women’s Television Champion Red Velvet teamed together to take on the united front of Thunder Rosa and Persephone in tag team action. Rosa is said to have received a loud ovation upon making her entrance. The champs worked heel and beat down the faces for much of the match, but when it looked like Athena had it sealed up after an O-Face on Persephone, legal woman Rosa managed to fight back and get the pin on Velvet for the one-two-three.

The night’s main event saw ROH Pure Champion Lee Moriarty take on the legendary Blue Panther. ‘Taiga Style’ was flanked by The Infantry and Shane Taylor, and after Moriarty tapped out to Panther for the non-title loss, his crew made their presence felt with an audacious beatdown. As Taylor readied for a top rope splash, Bryan Danielson made his entrance to a huge pop as Hologram and several others rushed the ring to stand STP down. Danielson led Arena México in ‘YES’ chants before hitting the Busaiku Knee on Taylor and embracing Blue Panther.

Post-match, Danielson took the mic to thank the fans, praise Blue Panther, and tell the crowd he loved the fact that AEW and ROH were in Mexico. More 'YES' chants as Danielson closed the show, before Justin Roberts cued up ‘The Final Countdown’ as the crowd chanted whilst Danielson shook hands at ringside. Reports state there were fans crying in the arena during this.
