Britt Baker Mentioned In Discussions Around AEW Rebel Heart Dynamite

Britt Baker may end up returning to All Elite Wrestling in the near future after almost two years off TV.

To honour Rebel - real name Tanae Brooks - following her terminal ALS diagnosis, AEW are holding a special Rebel Heart episode of Dynamite on September 9 from Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia. Baker, who remains close to Rebel, has been brought up in conversations within All Elite Wrestling about the Rebel tribute show, Sean Ross Sapp noted during a Fightful Select Answers Q&A.

Beyond this, there is no change in Britt Baker's AEW status. She hasn't been wrestling for the promotion, nor has she been backstage. Baker's last appearance on AEW TV was on the November 13, 2024 edition of Dynamite when she had a confrontation with Serena Deeb, during which Britt repeatedly said that "nobody cares."

Baker addressed being off AEW TV following Revolution 2026, noting an AEW return was not up to her. AEW CEO Tony Khan stated in February that Baker was "very highly regarded" and "respected" in AEW and he "would expect to see Britt back in AEW", although Khan wouldn't say when a comeback would take place.

Rebel was an on-screen character for AEW from April 2020 until 2023 as the assistant of Britt Baker and later both Baker and Jamie Hayter. Baker, at one time, was the top women's talent in All Elite Wrestling and she previously reigned as AEW Women's World Champion for 290 days from May 2021 until March 2022.
