AJ Styles has admitted he is hoping to have one more match in TNA Wrestling following his return to the promotion at the Slammiversary pay-per-view.

Styles appeared inside the IMPACT Zone for the first time since 2013 at Slammiversary as the former TNA World Champion put over new X-Division Champion Leon Slater as the future of the company. Styles also noted he would address wrestling in the promotion another time following "one more match" chants.

TNA produced Slammiversary: Fade To Black about the pay-per-view and Styles acknowledged during the documentary that he hopes to wrestle again for TNA.

"Tonight was the perfect night for me. It was an opportunity for me to come and see the fans face-to-face, something that I haven't done in a really long time. And WWE said, 'Yeah, sure. Go do that.' You don't see that every day, so the opportunity to just come and visit and share some time with them was pretty amazing. I hope there's something special as far as a match goes, but I can't promise that. I can't promise you tomorrow, [or] what's going to happen. But I can tell you this; I was very excited. Even I had the butterflies tonight," Styles said.

It was noted ahead of Slammiversary that several TNA talents were optimistic about AJ Styles having a match in the promotion, with Styles reportedly planned for a segment with Frankie Kazarian at the pay-per-view. Those plans, obviously, changed and it was reported that sources within TNA believed WWE may have played a role in Styles' segment being altered so as not to promise a future Styles match that they weren't going to deliver on.

After AJ Styles arrived backstage, he and Leon Slater continued to talk, during which Styles advised the new X-Division Champion to remain true to himself to achieve success within pro wrestling.
